1. Accounts
- ✅ You must be 18+ and use Upwork only for business purposes (not personal).
- ✅ Provide accurate info on your profile or risk suspension.
- ✅ Only one account per person (but you can add Freelancer, Client, or Agency types).
- ✅ Never share your password—only invite others as Team/Agency Members.
- ✅ Expect identity/location verification from Upwork.
2. Relationship with Upwork
- ✅ Upwork is a marketplace only, not your employer.
- ✅ You’re responsible for vetting clients, contracts, and services.
- ✅ You pay your own taxes and insurance.
- ✅ Feedback and ratings are public and permanent—Upwork doesn’t guarantee accuracy.
3. Contracts Between Client & Freelancer
- ✅ Contracts are between you and the client—Upwork isn’t a party.
- ✅ You can add your own terms (e.g. NDAs), but they can’t override Upwork’s terms.
- ✅ Disputes must follow Upwork’s Escrow dispute process.
- ✅ Keep client information confidential unless agreed otherwise.
